Minimum Technical Competencies (MTC) is part of the government Competent Person Scheme: a criteria for tradespeople working in domestic properties, including solar and renewable projects.
The certification proves quality standards and that the installer works within the Building Regulations requirements. Obtaining MTC can reduce the admin for a consumer, and provide them with assurance that you meet all the quality, and health and safety standards.
An MTC Card (Mandatory Technical Competence Card) shows that an installer or construction worker has the required competence and works within Building Regulations requirements. To obtain an MTC Card, you must meet certain pre-set criteria. You will then have to pass a knowledge assessment to demonstrate competence.
